The challenge

What needed solving

The agency's website was a landing page originally built for a single development. It could not show a single listing and said nothing about the areas the agency works in.

The property portals filled that gap, but every listing there builds the portal's brand rather than the agency's. With paid search about to start, the agency needed a destination of its own that could turn clicks into enquiries.

Our approach

How we did it

We delivered in four stages, each signed off before the next began.

01

Reposition

We rebuilt the website around the agency, its service areas and its people.

02

Platform

We built a purpose-made listings platform with property listings, agent profiles, area pages, search and viewing requests.

03

Self-sufficiency

We designed it so agents load and update their own properties, with no developer in the loop.

04

Launch

We moved it onto the agency's own domain and hosting, ready for paid search, with POPIA consent on its enquiry forms.

The result

What the business has now

The agency now owns its listings channel outright. Agents manage their own stock, enquiries go straight to the agency, and paid search has a home built to convert. The agency holds full ownership and admin access on its own hosting, with a WWS care plan available to keep the platform updated, backed up and monitored.

Why it matters

Portals are still worth paying for, but an advert that sends a buyer to a portal listing advertises the portal as much as the agency. When paid search lands on the agency's own listings, the enquiry, the buyer's details and the follow-up stay with the agency.

Property listings website FAQ

Questions, answered

Should an estate agency have its own listings website if it already uses property portals?

Yes. Portals deliver reach, but every listing builds the portal's brand. An owned listings website gives the agency a destination for paid search and social traffic, keeps enquiries direct and builds an asset the agency controls.

Can estate agents update a custom listings website themselves?

Yes. On the platform we built, agents load properties, photos and profiles from the website dashboard, so day-to-day updates need no developer.

Is a property website ready for Google Ads from launch?

It should be. We launch with enquiry forms, POPIA consent and analytics in place, so paid traffic is measured from the first click.

What should a property listings website include?

Searchable listings filtered by area, price and property type, a page for every property with photos and key details, agent profiles, viewing request forms that reach the agency directly, and area pages for the suburbs the agency serves.

Can our own listings website help us rank on Google?

Yes, when every listing and area page has its own URL, a clear title and structured details. Area pages in particular give an agency pages of its own that can rank for local property searches, which portal listings never build for the agency.
