Wired Web Services started in 2015, but the idea behind it came earlier. Before building websites for clients, I ran websites of my own and relied on them for my income. That taught me what a business website is really for: bringing in money. Looking at other companies' websites, I saw how many of them looked fine but did nothing for the business that paid for them.
So we have always treated launch day as the starting line. The hard work of generating income from a website only really starts after it goes live: keeping it fast, secure and visible on Google, and catching the problems that quietly cost you business, like an update that breaks the website, emails that start bouncing, or a domain about to expire that nobody remembers registering. We took responsibility for all of it, and our clients stayed.
They also told the people they knew. More than 1,000 websites later, Wired Web Services launches multiple new websites every month and hosts the websites we look after on our own servers.
That idea now has a full team behind it. Design, development, support and client communication each have their own people and their own process, so every website gets the same attention long after launch as it did on day one. We build websites to earn, and we look after them so they keep earning.
A website is not a project with an end date. It is part of how a business earns its money, and it should be looked after that way.
